I grew up in the South where iced sweet tea was the water of life. Offered to every guest at home, served at every restaurant. Since moving north I have fallen in love with Earl Grey, and now Yorkshire tea (thanks to the show All Creatures Great and Small). I love the malty-ness of Irish tea. My husband’s Chinese family drinks oolong. Tea is a common ground for so many people and places. Keep preaching its magic Meagan!
I’m an herbal tea fan so I too would love to see more options places. I’ve had to steer clear of many types of herbal teas being pregnant or nursing. We’re in a debate over whether or not we’re done with babies. But as soon as we are, tea will be the first thing I’ll be getting back into.
Thanks for this input, Natasha! It's too bad that you aren't able to find more safe herbals - there are so many good ones out there made specifically for nursing and pregnant moms. Curious, when it comes to caffeinated teas, are you entirely avoiding caffeine or are trace amounts OK? You can remove a lot (but not all) of the caffeine from black, green, white, and oolong teas by steeping them, tossing the first steep, and then steeping the same leaves again.
This is very good information to know on the caffeine! The tips I need! I don’t know much about tea, just that I enjoy it! I’m avoiding the caffeine only because I’m a big fan of coffee and already meet my quota (and then some) there 😉 I also generally just enjoy herbal over black and I don’t like green from what I’ve tried (which is not a lot)!
